What this site is

PermitEstimator.com provides free estimates of residential building permit fees for general information and planning only. Estimates are calculated from fee schedules published by the cities themselves, and each estimator names its source schedule and the date it was last verified so you can check our work.

Estimates are not quotes

An estimate on this site is not a quote, a bill, or a guarantee of what any city will charge you. Municipal fees change, sometimes with little notice, and individual projects vary in ways a calculator cannot see, including lot-specific impact and utility fees. The figures published by the official authority always govern. Always confirm your fees with your city's development or permitting office before making financial commitments.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site is legal, architectural, engineering, tax, financial, or professional advice. Whether a project requires a permit, and how it must be built, are decisions that deserve guidance from your city's permitting office and qualified professionals who know your project.

Using the site

You may use this site for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please do not scrape, copy, or republish the site's content or calculators in bulk without permission. We may update the calculators, the fee data, and these terms at any time as cities publish new schedules.

No warranty

We work hard to keep the numbers accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that any estimate will match your final billing, and we are not liable for differences between our estimates and your final costs, or for decisions made based on this information.

Governing law

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts still apply. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana.
